This Privacy Policy explains the types of personal information we collect, the reasons we collect it, how it is used and protected, the circumstances in which it may be disclosed, and the rights available to individuals regarding their personal information. This Policy applies to our website, digital platforms, mobile application, and all products and services provided by APG.

By accessing or using our services, you acknowledge that your personal information will be managed in accordance with this Privacy Policy, except where applicable law requires your explicit consent.

Collection of Personal Information

APG collects only the personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide, administer, improve, and support its products and services. Information may be obtained directly from you, through your use of our services, or from authorized third parties, including partner dealers involved in the administration of your contract.

Depending on the service provided, the personal information collected may include your name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, date of birth, driver's licence information (where required), contract and coverage details, vehicle information (including the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), when applicable), documents submitted in support of a claim or request, and payment information required to process transactions.

We may also automatically collect technical information when you access our website or mobile application. This information may include your IP address, browser or device information, operating system, application usage data, diagnostic information, and other technical details necessary to maintain the security, functionality, and performance of our digital services.

Use of Personal Information

Personal information is used only for legitimate business purposes and only to the extent necessary to:

  • establish, verify, and maintain customer records;

  • administer contracts, warranties, and services;

  • process claims, requests, and customer inquiries;

APG limits the disclosure of personal information to situations where it is necessary to operate its business, deliver services, or comply with legal obligations. Personal information may be shared with:

  • partner dealers and authorized business partners involved in administering products and services;

  • third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf, including cloud hosting, information technology, payment processing, communications, analytics, and customer support, subject to contractual privacy and confidentiality obligations;

  • legal, accounting, auditing, and other professional advisors when required for business or compliance purposes; and

  • government authorities, regulators, law enforcement agencies, or courts where disclosure is authorized or required by applicable law.

 

APG does not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Personal information is not disclosed to unrelated third parties for marketing or commercial purposes without your consent, unless permitted or required by law.

APG maintains administrative, organizational, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information in its custody. These safeguards include access controls, encryption where appropriate, secure hosting infrastructure, monitoring and logging systems, employee confidentiality obligations, and internal privacy and security practices designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, theft, or misuse.

While reasonable security measures are maintained, no method of electronic storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security. Users are encouraged to protect their account credentials and personal devices to help safeguard their information.

  • request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete personal information;

  • request information regarding how your personal information has been collected, used, or disclosed; and

  • exercise any additional rights provided under applicable privacy legislation.

 

Requests will be processed in accordance with applicable legal requirements. Unless an extension is authorized by law, APG will respond within thirty (30) days of receiving a complete request.

Account Deletion (APG App)

Users of the APG mobile application may request deletion of their account and associated personal information, subject to any legal, contractual, or regulatory retention requirements.

Where information must be retained to comply with applicable laws or to resolve legal, contractual, or administrative matters, such information will be securely retained only for the required retention period and will subsequently be securely destroyed or anonymized in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
